Privacy Policy
Roomerly (“Roomerly,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website roomerly.artand the Roomerly web application (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1.3 Information from third parties
If you sign in through a third-party provider (e.g., Google, Apple), we receive the profile information you authorize that provider to share (typically name, email, and profile photo).
2. How we use your information
We process your information for the following purposes:
- Provide the Service — process room photos with our AI, generate styling recommendations, display curated products.
- Personalize your experience — tailor recommendations to your style preferences, budget, and room type.
- Affiliate product links — when you click a product link, affiliate tracking cookies may be set by the retailer or affiliate network to attribute the referral. See Section 4 for details.
- Communicate with you — send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset), and, with your consent, marketing emails (styling tips, new features). You can opt out at any time.
- Analytics and improvement — understand how users interact with the Service to fix bugs, improve features, and develop new ones.
- Security and fraud prevention — detect and prevent unauthorized access, abuse, or fraudulent activity.
- Legal compliance — comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal requests.
3. AI image processing
Your room photos are processed solely to provide styling recommendations. We do not sell your photos, use them to train third-party AI models, or share them with advertisers. Photos may be processed by our AI infrastructure providers (acting as data processors under our instructions) and are subject to the safeguards described in Section 6.
You may delete your uploaded photos at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, photos are removed from active systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days.
4. Affiliate links & third-party retailers
Roomerly earns commissions when you purchase products through affiliate links in the Service. This does not increase the price you pay. We participate in affiliate programs operated by:
- Amazon Associates (Amazon)
- Awin (IKEA, Etsy, and others)
- CJ Affiliate / Impact (Wayfair and others)
When you click an affiliate link, you leave Roomerly and are redirected to the retailer’s website. At that point, the retailer’s own privacy policy governs the data they collect. Affiliate networks may place cookies on your device to track the referral; these cookies are governed by the respective network’s cookie policy.
We do not receive your payment information, purchase details, or personal data from retailers — only aggregated commission and conversion data.

Managing cookies: You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may impact the functionality of the Service. Where required by law (e.g., in the EU/EEA), we obtain your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
6. Data sharing & third-party services
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:
- Service providers — hosting, AI processing, analytics, email delivery, and payment processing providers who act on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect your data.
- Affiliate networks — limited referral data (click ID, timestamp) to attribute commissions. No personal data is shared beyond what the network collects via its own cookies.
- Legal obligations — when required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity.
7. Legal basis for processing (EEA/UK users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your data under the following legal bases as defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

8. Your rights
8.1 All users
- Access — request a copy of your personal data.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Deletion — request deletion of your data and account.
- Opt out of marketing — unsubscribe from emails via the link in any email or through account settings.
8.2 EEA/UK users (GDPR)
In addition to the rights above, you have the right to:
- Restrict processing — ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Object to processing — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Lodge a complaint — file a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8.3 California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

- Delete your personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell your personal information as defined by the CCPA. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:
- Account data — retained until you delete your account.
- Room photos — retained until you delete them or delete your account. Removed from backups within 90 days of deletion.
- Usage & analytics data — retained in identifiable form for up to 26 months, then aggregated or deleted.
- Support communications — retained for up to 3 years for quality and legal purposes.
10. Data security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, regular security reviews, and incident response procedures. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International data transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where we transfer data outside the EEA/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, or the recipient’s participation in a recognized data protection framework.
12. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed at anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@roomerly.art.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (if you have an account) or by posting a prominent notice on the Service. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
